The Whirlpool frontloading washer will make your friends jealous! It is much quieter than any machine especially during the spin cycle so it won't wake the kids. This washer uses the h-e detergent causing you to use less detergent and save more money. It is gentle when washing your clothes. This feature is wonderful to help save money from having to purchase clothes more often. Clothes comes out of the washer smelling better than the normal washing machine. And we even saw a price change in our electric bill, saving more money. While your friends will be spending their money on more detergent, clothes and electric bills, what will you be spending your saved money on?
When our top loading washing machine bit the dust, we decided to try a front loading washer. After much research, we decided on the LG Electronics model WM0642H. This is the best washing machine that I have ever had. It gets our clothes clean while using less water and detergent. The washer is so quiet that I sometimes forget that I am doing laundry. When the wash is done, the clothes are practically dry. Drying time is cut in half. I do let the tub air out after laundry. I feel like it needs to dry out since the seal is so tight. I don't have small children around so I feel comfortable doing so. This is our first experience with the LG brand, and we are very satisfied. Great product at a reasonable price. Couldn't be happier.
The cabrio gets the clothes cleaner than any of the other washers I've had. We farm, and with hard water (use water softner also) its been difficult keeping clothes looking like they are clean.
However, in forty plus years of doing laundry, I have never had a washing machine go out of balance, until this one. At least thirty percent of the loads are unbalanced. I've tried loading differently, I have a level in the basement to make sure the machine is level (always is), and I've tried different size loads, all to no avail.
With all the electronics, you have to wait for the machine to go through a "rebalancing cycle" before it will finish the load, even after you have reshifted the load, making the long cycle time even longer.
I have had the Bosch Nexxt 500plus washer for about 10 weeks now and I am very happy with it. It replaced a noisy Hotpoint top-loader that never really did a good job at cleaning but used huge amounts of water and energy. This washer has many cycles and extra options to get many different temperatures, spin speeds and tumbling action. It has an internal heater that can heat the incoming water up to 170 degrees (xxtra sanitary cycle). This cycle can be used to sanitize white or light colored towels and sheets, rags and other things like that. The heater also gives you the option to do a so-called profile wash when you select the heavy duty option. This means that the wash starts out with tap cold water and during the cycle the heater engages and heats the water to the desired temperature. This is a great way to eliminate protein based stains like grass and blood which would get set in by using hot water. Another great option is the soak cycle. It is a 2 hour cycle that you can use to soak your clothes, bedding or towels in a detergent or oxiclean solution. I have gotten great results in cleaning baby comforters and mattress pads that have been through the washer and dryer before but were still stained. I pre-treated the worst stains with oxiclean before putting them into the washer and then I used oxiclean for the soak cycle as well. Since the soak cycle uses cold water I have added a little bit hot water through the detergent dispenser to activate the oxiclean. After the soak cycle is complete you pick and start the normal wash cycle. I was impressed that this took care of those old set in stains. I think this washer offers a great amount of features and options while it is still very easy to operate. I use a powdered HE detergent and just use half the recommended amount and get great results. In addition to the water and energy savings you can save a lot of money on detergents and additives. The hot cycles are a great alternative to using liquid chlorine bleach. Our washer is located in the kitchen over concrete, so we don't have any vibration problems. Due to the location it is important to us to have a quiet washer. It is a lot quieter than our old washer. You can hear the water slushing around, the pump engaging and the motor during the high spin speed. Other than that, the normal operation is very quiet. I can highly recommend this washer. After all the discounts I paid less than $900 for it and it is worth every penny.
At first I was a bit hesitant about dropping 3000 into a washer and dryer, but this one was well worht the money. I have back problems and with the pedestal set I don't have to do any bending. It gets all the stains out of the clothes, including things I thought I was going to have to throw away. It is very quiet. It is not fast if you use the extended spin cycle of any of the other features but the way it cleans your clothes is well worth the extra time. Since I got this set my water bill has been cut in half. One of the reasons it was worth putting the money into this set. after reading about the amount of water it used compared to a normal washer I figured that what we saved would make the payment on the set. This set is also energy star rated. It dries a load of jeans or towles (12-15 pair of grownup jeans or 15 big towles) in only 40 minutes. This is partly to how dry the washer gets the clothes with it's fast spin. Dispite the high price tag on this product, even if you are on a budget, this is a must have!
Bought this model last year and it's been great. Runs quietly and holds a lot. The lint trap is very easy to clean--my last dryer had a wierd lint trap that was awkward to clean. The only problem is that I have back problems, and having to bend down to reach so far into the dryer sometimes aggravates it.
We have had the Maytag Neptune washer and dryer set, for quite some time. We had a factory recall on the washer at their expense. Apparently they did not perfect this product fully before it went on sale. The washer, when you open the door a smell hits you after it has been used awhile.. To temporarily get rid of this smell, you have to do the recommended procedure from Maytag, which is time consuming and uses more detergent (dishwasher detergent & bleach). Also you need a toothbrush to clean around the ring inside the door. The dryer as far as I am concerened, does not filter the lint properly.
Having been a loyal customer of Maytag for 30 years, this washer and dryer set up STINKS.
I almost purchased an LG which is one of the most popular brands but we had a space issue and instead purchased the Fisher and Paykel. The machine is less expensive than the LG and better and is a top loader which makes it easier on the back. There are few machines with this power and capacity in this small footprint which makes it great for urban laundry closets. There are so many features on the machine but it is not hard to learn to use.
Purchased this machine in November of 2004. Was absolutely wonderful for about 2 years.
At first I noticed that after loading clothes in the washer and going back upstairs, I would hear this little beeping tone. I would go downstairs and find that the clothes in the machine were slowly spinning around and not doing anything else, ( as in NOT washing). The only way I could get the machine to finish the cycle was to unplug the machine and let the circuit board clear itself. Most of the time it worked sometimes it did'nt. Last summer I had a repairman out. I was told that the solenoid that handles the hot water, went out. This in turn put to much pressure on the circuit board and it had to be replaced also. The machine ran fine for about 3 months then the same thing started happening again. Only for the past 3 months I have only used cold water.
This machine was rated very highly in Consumer Reports. After the 200.00 repair bill a few months ago and what I will have to spend for another repair....kindof looks like there is a KENMORE in our future. The dryer was not rated very well but have had no problems.
