Dishwasher good to clean other stuff?

I've seen a dishwasher used to clean (baseball) caps. I'm wondering what other creative uses there are for the typical household dishwasher.

2. I use it to wash sponges both from the kitchen and the bathroom. Mine also has a wonderful heat only cycle which I use as a plate warmer and a ski glove drier.

4. you can also wash ur computer keyboards, not any fancy high tech ones which have a lcd screen or anything just a regular old keyboard, just be sure to dry it of properly before plugging it in.
5. The trouble with using the dishwasher to clean other stuff is the soap may be too harsh in some cases, or the water action to sever. I do use mine to wash my doilies for my tables and dresser you can stretch them on the dish pins so they don't get so out of shape. I wash my hair brushes and combs, and I have put my nylon broom head in after cleaning the dust bunnies out of it so I can clean it.
6. I have heard of people using them to wash their adult toys.... You may want to do this in a separate wash from your dishes though!
7. it can be used to clean washable filters such as hood vent and furnes filters.
8. A guy that I worked with used his moms dishwasher to wash his chrome wheel covers. He said that they came out great, But his mom came home while they were on the dry cycle & after it shut off she went to empty it... Boy oh Boy was she ticked off... Apparently that was the last time he did it until he moved out.
9. I clean out my curio cabinet once a year, and the glassware in there i feel is safe for the dishwasher, comes out clean, dry, and sparkling. Also good for glassware from sconces. Just don't overload so that the items will hit one another and possibly break.
10. I take down all my light fixtures and run them through the dishwasher, they get really clean.:)
11. I put my dolphins in there so they can get a good freshwater clean! They love it... my tuna hotboxed it though and came out baked!
12. I put almost anything that will fit in there....

17. "They", being the cooking gods, reckon if you put a whole fish wrapped in foil in your dishwasher, it will cook it to perfection. I don't dare try it. I know folks who throw their tea-towels and clothes in there as well! I can't vouch for the effectiveness of it!
