  1. use JETDRY!!!!!!!!!!!!..havent u ever seen da commercial?
  2. you are using too much detergent, do not fill the cup, read the soap label. if you pre-wash your dishes rather than just scraping them and loading, today's stronger detergents and dishwashers will etch glassware, and silverware. check your owners manual, it will tell you the proper procedures for using your dishwasher. cheez! and you ladies say us guys don't read the instructions!! lol! good luck, hope this helps.
  3. I have always used a liquid dish washing detergent...Cascade usually and always Jet Dry. I have etched glasses and am sure that it is because dishwasher detergent is very harsh. I don't know for sure what it is, but I remember once hearing that it contains clay...that will sure cause etching. Even on the Jet Dry site, it says to run your glasses on the shortest cycle and the lowest heat setting for the water. That tells us something...yes? I just wash my crystal glasses by hand and put the rest in the dishwasher.
  4. First of all, if you're talking about actual glass as opposed to crystal, glass can etch easily. Why? Because like crystal, there are variations in its quality. Cheap glass will etch faster with the use of an electric dishwasher compared to higher quality glass. Did you know that the main constituent in most automatic electric dishwasher detergents is sodium hydroxide (lye) and chlorine bleach (another caustic acid) An Asko dishwasher has very long wash cycles, further exposing your dishes to the possibility of etching damage. You should stop using the sani-rinse cycle if there is such an option and switch to a gel format detergent as opposed to a powder. Use a rinse agent such as Jet-Dry. This should solve your problems, however your newly etched glassware has no hope. You'll have to start anew.
  5. use Jet-dry and don't fill the extra cup with detergent
  6. First, make sure there is no leftover food in the dishwasher. Then, use Cascade and some jet dry.....together they work wonders!
