my dishwasher will not drain after it cycles. Do I need a plumber or dishwasher repairman?
It is a GE Profile, included in the recall, but I don't think this particular problem is covered in the repair recall. That's why I am hesitant about calling GE. I called GE for troubleshooting, but the steps they provided did not manually empty the water. So its full to the brim with dirty water. I simply cannot live without my dishwasher. HELP! What shall I do?

- Before you call either, check the drain line at bottom of the unit. This impeller can get plugged. Clean this.
- Is the disposal in working order? Check that first... Don't forget to run it before each load... Also, check to make sure that the filter screen (if any) inside the dishwasher is not clogged with muck...
- The drainage for your dishwasher usually runs into your garbage disposal. If you can pour water down though the drain, it is probably your dishwasher drainage spout that is clogged. I would check the opening of the drainage pipe to see if that is clogged. If that still doesn't work, I would try using a shop-vac to empty the water and to suck up any food particles around the inside of the dishwasher.
