How long does it take a dishwasher to run thru all the cycles! I started mine like an hour and a half ago and it still isnt done. I think its broken!!! Its my first time using it!

  1. Depends on the dishwasher. Ours goes for at least an hour probably more when you consider the drying cycle. Is there a timer and is it moving?
  2. Look in your manual it will tell you how long each cycle lasts. A lot of new machines have a sensor that checks how dirty the water is, if it is too dirty it will purge and refill. This takes more time. If you select a cycle that heats the water and the input water is not 120F at the start it will take even longer. All this is in your manual. The average new machine runs about an hour and a half. A lot of old machines take about 45 mins. This is due to the EPA requirements to use less water and less electricity in the new machines. Less water, smaller motor, longer cycles. It's probably not broken.
